Let’s make it simple

Just call us “Woodman Edmands”

(Biddeford, Maine) Harry B. Center, Managing Partner of one of York County’s larger law firms, announced that “Woodman Edmands” will be the new name of the law firm formerly known as “Woodman Edmands Danylik Austin Smith & Jacques, P.A.”

“As we chart a course for future growth, this move to simplify makes sense. The firm has been a mainstay on Main Street for decades, and ‘Woodman Edmands’ is what folks call us already.”

In recent months Woodman Edmands has added several new attorneys, and Center said the firm expects to recruit more. Well-known real estate attorney Rick Hull merged his practice with the firm. Also, attorneys Jayden Walton and Kaleigh Gorman joined the firm. Walton focuses her practice on real estate, business and estate planning, while Gorman concentrates on family law, civil litigation and estate planning.

“We’re very pleased and will continue to add more talent. Not only are Biddeford and the surrounding communities growing rapidly, but they’re also growing younger. Increased local demand for commercial and personal legal counsel, especially for younger residents, is a logical result,” Center said.

Center said three attorneys retired recently, Keith Jacques, Mike O’Toole, and Jim Smith. Partner Ralph Austin has modified his practice and will continue at the firm in an “Of Counsel” capacity. Center said that while active at Woodman Edmands, all played an integral role in Biddeford-Saco’s growth spurt.

“These attorneys provided counsel to hundreds of successful organizations in northern York County. As one example, Keith Jacques as city attorney helped guide Biddeford through the enormously complex task of closing the MERC incinerator and sparking the downtown’s robust revitalization. And then, Ralph Austin represented the developer who brought the Lincoln Hotel to life, to rave reviews. All of these gentlemen worked on important projects that had a huge positive impact on this area, mostly behind the scenes,” Center said.

Center is the Managing Partner at Woodman Edmands and heads the litigation and municipal law team. The firm was founded in 1985 and is located at 234 Main Street in Biddeford. For more information: www.WoodedLaw.com.
